Built from experience.

Shaped by loss.

Designed to help you navigate all that comes after.

The After Loss Company was founded on a simple truth: when a loved one passes, life doesn’t pause. In fact, there’s even MORE to do on top of your usual day-to-day. Not to mention, you’re grieving! There’s no need to navigate it alone, when there’s real help available to carry the load.

We offer practical, compassionate assistance for individuals and families facing the complex realities after loss. With an experienced, steady hand, we help manage the tasks, logistics, and the emotional activities and events so you can take each next step with more space to grieve, remember, and heal.

Kelsey June is the founder of The After Loss Company, a service born from both lived experience and professional expertise. After the sudden loss of her husband in 2023, Kelsey found herself not only shocked and grieving, but navigating the dense, disorienting checklist that follows a death — accounts, belongings, arrangements, bureaucratic hurdles, highly emotional decisions — all while trying to stay afloat emotionally and practically.

With more than a decade of experience as an executive assistant supporting high-level professionals, Kelsey brings exceptional organizational skill, practical problem-solving, discretion, and calm under pressure. She has also worked as a support specialist in the advance planning department of a prominent memorial park in Los Angeles, and is a licensed REALTOR® in California — giving her a wide-angle view of the complex realities families face after loss.

But what truly sets Kelsey apart is her ability to be fully present with people in some of the most difficult, intimate moments of their lives — sorting through a loved one’s personal belongings, attending funeral home appointments, sitting with families during visits to the coroner’s office — consistently offering quiet, capable support when others don’t know what to say or do.

Through The After Loss Company, Kelsey offers more than checklists — she offers clarity, groundedness, and genuine care for the moments that matter most.

About The After Loss Company

  • We believe no one should have to face the fog of loss alone. Our mission is to walk with people through the hard, hidden work that comes after a death — offering structure, support, and real-life help when it’s needed most. We aim to be the solution for the unfortunate part of life no one prepares us for.

  • While we would love to be a true one-stop-shop for all after-loss matters, we are not a replacement for many of the necessary services needed after a loss.

    • We are not grief counselors or therapists.

    • We are not attorneys (estate, probate, or otherwise).

    • We are not accountants or financial advisors.

    • We do not offer proxy services to be able to close accounts and handle other affairs on your behalf.

Consider us to be more like your after-loss personal assistant that can help you get many things done that need doing while also being the hub in the after-loss wheel - connecting you to the information, resources, and other professionals you may need to move forward on a variety of decisions and tasks.

What we can do are a variety of things involving organization, coordination, planning, researching, writing, scheduling, arranging, communicating, sorting, and supporting. — always with presence, compassion, and no judgment.

  • Most services are built to support someone who is dying, not the people left behind. And even when help is offered after a loss, it’s often limited to a few phone calls, a pamphlet, or highly specialized.

We do things differently. We don’t just tell you what you need to do — we help you do it. Whether that means organizing a memorial, managing paperwork, prepping a home for sale, or just sitting beside you while you sort through belongings, we meet you where you are and walk through it with you.

  • We envision a world where no one has to navigate the aftermath of loss alone. And while we don’t have much control over the amount of tasks and responsibilities required after loss, we will always strive to make those things less complicated and more manageable.

In the future, we hope to expand our offerings to include:

    • A network of trained After Loss Specialists in cities across the country

    • A pay-it-forward fund to provide free or reduced-fee services to those in need.

    • Gift certificates available for purchase so you can send your griever something that’s actually helpful instead of flowers

    • Pre-planning services, tools, and workshops for individuals and families

    • Resources for professionals working with grieving clients

    • In-house Notary services included in our offerings so there’s one less service provider you have to hire

This is just the beginning — and we’re building it one thoughtful step at a time.
